Pre-season continues
The Wanderers continued their pre-season development with an entertaining run out against a second Premiership side Llangennech. With lots of new faces on show again Manager Mark Gould commented “This is all about the development of the squad. We now have an intense 2 week period to fine tune things before our last friendly against Taffs Well before the season begins in earnest. Today there were certainly areas of improvement from last week but also some disjointed play as a result of all new faces.”
As per last week the best Wanderers play came early and late on with Sean O’Rourke (back in Wanderers colours after reinstatement of bus routes from Canton to Ely) scoring a good solo try and a first try for new recruit Ollie Wong.
Lee Highgate (now old enough to be playing with his grand-kids) continued to deny the ageing process by turning out in the second half on the wing.
