Championship cup begins

“Some of our selections may raise a few eyebrows but our pre-season has been so limited and the season format unclear so we have to look at the bigger picture. We have a young squad with players of massive potential and we have elected to use these cup games to develop our squad with eyes firmly on the post Christmas league fixtures (whatever form they take)” Commented Head Coach Martyn Fowler. “We need to see some new combinations and some players desperately need game time”

There are several new faces withing the squad today two players with the same name in the front five (its not a typo!) and a smattering of new faces in the backline as well.

“Cardiff Met are a strong outfit and you know the type of game that the students will play” added Darren Gibbon ” This is more about our development though as we have both eyed firmly on the future!”
