Wanderers end season prep
The Wanderers ended a tough week of preparation yesterday. On Wednesday a tough game against local rivals St Peters was followed up with a game against one of the top sides in the championship, Bargoed.
Wednesday’s game saw the Wanderers overcome stiff resistance from St Peters to dominate possession and the scoring with several players impressing the coaching team. On Saturday a much sterner test with Premiership aspirants Bargoed saw the Wanderers recover from being under the cosh early on to more than give the strong visitors side a run for their money. The strength of the Bargoed squad told in the end and a tired Wanderers squad were left licking their wounds as the Visitors ran in some excellent late tries.
Back Coach Darren Gibbon commented: A massive commitment from such a young squad we are all immensity proud of their effort over the 160 minutes of rugby this week. There is huge potential talent in this young squad and they showed their desire to play for the club. They will only improve as they play and spend more time together.
