Sir Tasker Watkins bar opening kicks off 125th year celebrations

Prior to the first game of the season the Wanderers officially opened the new Sir Tasker Watkins lounge. The day began with the presentation of the new 125th year squad shirts by Internationals and Ex-Wanderers Josh Navidi, Scott Andrews, Lloyd Williams and Cory Allen.

In the presence of WRU representatives Dave Young and Gwyn Bowden (the room was refurbished with a development grant from the WRU and a bequest from Terry Watkins) and Sir Tasker’s daughter and son in law President Keith Thomas gave an address to remember Sir Tasker and to dedicate the room to him. Mair Griffiths Williams, Sir Tasker’s daughter then unveiled the stature which is a working model of the statue that stands outside the Principality Stadium (kindly donated by the sculptor Roger Andrews)

Many older Wanderers attended the event which Kicks off the 125th year celebrations which will continue with A Captains dinner on Friday 16th November at the club.
