Wanderers return to Aberystwyth for another cup tie

After a gap of 12 years the Wanderers return to Aberystwyth for their second visit in a cup competition. In October 2004 the Wanderers made the first visit to Aberystwyth and were victorious 7-34. In a side that was marching to the premiership at the time the Wanderers side that day boasted a side of experience and Youth. The stalwart forwards Keith Stewart and Richie Thomas were balanced by a youthful set of backs, Mike Butler in the centre going on to have a long career and wing Jamie Henthorn providing the pace out wide.

Today’s side shows some similarities. Up front Lee Highate brings the experience alongside ex Blues and Connaught centre James Loxton and there is pace in abundance in the form of previous Ugandan 7s player Phillip Pariyo and wing Wing Adams Jones.

The side will be finalised tomorrow evening after training and, weather permitting, we all will be trekking North west for a day by the seaside!
