Wanderers end pre-season on a high
In awful conditions Newbridge and the Wanderers served up a decent feast of rugby through the rain. The home side dominated the early stages only to see the premiership side claw their way back and go ahead. A fine try from Zak Fifield sealed the win for the home side late on and both sets of coaches will have learned a lot form the tough encounter.
All set for the big kick off next weekend.
“A solid pre-season hit out that allowed us to test where we are” commented head Coach Paul Matthews “Improvements from last season starting to show and some new players are adding real competition for places going forward”
“Good to see what we are doing on the training paddock being carried through to game day” commented forwards coach Huw Dowden.
Chairman Brian Patterson (taking time out from his media and influencer duties posing in a Lions suit) added “Everyone made an impact whether on or off the ball and the winning try was testament to that”
