At a new second home for the Wanderers athletic, a top of the table encounter so early in the season lived up to expectations.

Two teams who wanted to play rugby and it certainly showed with both teams trading tried in the first 5 minutes. The youthful athletic back line attacking well with Rhys Iles marshalling the troops well.

The experience St. Josephs side were always in the game though and eventually took a grip on the game through some neat offloading and support play.

Second half was more of the same and both teams on the attack with Cameron Atkins impressive in defence and forwards Will and Alex providing some great support play during attack.

Alas it was St. Joes who took advantage to poor discipline from the athletic and they took the game away from us.
