Athletic keep up winning start

Cardiff Met 19
Wanderers Athletic 39

On a bright and sunny day the Athletic turned up ready for a testing game of rugby against Cardiff Met. Unfortunately, not all of the boys turned up and the Athletic had to play with 14 men but this didn’t stop them as the athletic backs were sensational. Once again the front row of captain Gareth Reid, Sam Reed and James Pollard led from the front with work rate, ball carrying and scrummaging. This let Rhys Iles release the back and they ran riot securing the bonus point in 26 mins. The Cardiff Met coach called the first half early due to the athletic cruising with a man less.

Second half was more of the same with Asanji Mofor running and grafting all game. The stand out performer was Jack Beynon in the centre who cut through the Cardiff Met back line with ease and made everything look easy.

The last play of the game saw the Athletic have a scrum on the Mets 5 metre line and Tyrell Scanlon powered over the line for the final score.
