Wanderers end pre season Friendlies

The Wanderers ended their pre-season warm up matches with a game at Taffs Well. With several combinations having their second run out the performance was a little bit more assured. Tries from Nathan Williams (2) and Huw Dowden sealed the win with the coaches getting further looks at a number of players in the squad. Dowden returned to a Wanderers side for the first time in over 10 years to take his place in the middle of the front row as he had his first run out of this season. Ceri Morris had his first run out after the little matter of his wedding keeping him off the field until now. Anthony Cox got more game time into his legs after missing the whole of last season due to injury and Williams and Finn Davies both had run outs after injury.

Head coach Paul Matthews commented: we left a number of chances out there, which was disappointing but credit to a gutsy Taffs Well side. This week we had a more solid platform and with players now available we can look forward to the league campaign kicking off against St Peters next week.
