Rugby is back!

554 days since we last took the field the Wanderers took the field again last night! “We are indebted to Llanishen for hosting us yesterday” commented coach Darren Gibbon. “It was great to have a competitive hit out after so long.There was a lot of exciting young talent on show”

Under the watchful eye of referee Kelvin Shorte, who had outlined the new rules for the limited game before the sides took the field, the teams played two 20 minute sessions.

“The new breakdown rules clearly need time to bed in and with limited scrummaging there was plenty of ball in play time” added head coach Martyn Fowler “Great to see players from both sides with a smile on their faces”

Both sides threw everything into the sessions with rolling subs allowed plenty of players had a run out. Team Manager Mark Gould added “Lots of new faces on show but plenty to work on in the coming weeks”
