Wanderers announce Co-Captains for new Championship season
With the sizeable boots of Aaron Fowler to fill the Wanderers coaches have entrusted the Captaincy to two of the young stars of the current squad.
Co Captains:
CAMERON GIBBON ROB LEWIS
Getting back to rugby in the new normal requires new thinking and new methods of work, to that end we are extremely pleased to announce Prop Rob Lewis and Centre Cameron Gibbon as Co Captains of Glamorgan Wanderers RFC for the forthcoming season.
We are all excitedly looking forward to work with Rob and Cameron, I cannot recall a game where either player would have not been in the team’s top five performers. Both have been involved in the highs of promotion and fought hard to regain promotion when relegated, displaying huge levels of resilience with a group of players that regained Championship status when re promoted to the Championship.
Rob and Cam display high capability when producing X Factor moments, moments that can turn a game around, Rob with his high levels of game intelligence, set piece problem solving ability and dynamic ball carrying capabilities. Cameron with his pace, guile and defensive ability. For me the choice was an easy one, both players have earned the respect from the coaching, playing and management groups. Both are young exciting prospects who want to build on the fantastic work that’s taken place over the last five seasons and more importantly players that I trust to get the job done.
