Wanderers lose past Captain
The Wanderers family were sad to hear the news of the passing of Peter Goodfellow on Friday after he lost his battle with cancer.
A man with an infectious smile Peter was Captain of the Wanderers 1st Xv in the early 90’s in the fledgling days of league rugby. He not only graced the rugby field but was equally at home on a cricket square or on the golf course where he spent may a happy day post rugby career. He had the ability to play right across the back-line but will probably be best remembered as a fullback.
He had bags of self confidence, blessed with a wonderful side step and a sweet left foot as a prolific points scorer and as a Captain he welcomed everyone into the fold, be they experienced old Pros or young players on their way up. Always immaculately turned out before he took the field, boots polished and collar turned up, his confidence was infectious to his team mates.
Peter would always take time to say hello if he ran into you and rarely did he seem to “have a bad day”

We all pass on pour condolences to Peter’s family at this very difficult time. He will be sadly missed.
