Wanderers family lose great clubman

By Alyn Humphries | 14/05/2017

It is with great sadness that the Wanderers have to announce that yesterday, Keith Morgan, our vice chairman, succumbed to the cancer which he had fought so valiantly for 13 months.

Keith joined the club many years ago and became a massive part of the Wanderers family. At first active with the Youth XV where he acted as coach and manager and then moving on to the senior committee to act as Vice chairman. He was also active for many years in Cardiff & District Youth rugby. As Vice chairman, in one of the most turbulent periods of the club’s long history, his knowledge of the licensing trade was invaluable as he helped bring the club back to stability.

He took great pleasure from seeing his two sons, Darren and Lee, playing for the club and with his wife Carol, the club’s secretary, he was an ever present on match days.

Keith never courted reward for his efforts and he was truly the sort of club volunteer and cornerstone that great clubs of the world are built on. He will be sadly missed by us all.

Our sympathies go out to Carol, Joanne, Darren, Lee and all the Morgan family at this difficult time.
