New look Pre-Season for Wanderers

Following an intensive pre-season training regime under returning S&C coach Will Cusack the Wanderers have a new look to their August preparation.

On Saturday August 11th they play 2 trial matches at the Wanderers involving Cardiff RFC and Bridgend RFC. At 2pm Cardiff play Bridgend, at 3pm the Wanderers play Bridgend and at 4pm the Wanderers play Cardiff. Head coach Martyn Fowler commented. “its a step away from what we normally do but to lock horns with 2 of the premierships best sides will give us a great beginning to the Division 1 build up”

The Wanderers will then play away at Caerphilly on Sat 18th August  and will finish preparation with a home game against Cardiff university on Saturday 25th August.

Manager john Lyons added “we’ve concentrated on strengthening the squad over the summer with a blend of Youth and experience. Dan Schwartz has joined to bolster the front row and Ryan Davies and Josh Hitchman have strengthened the already strong back row. Max Wootton and Mike Owen are fit again after both suffering injuries at the end of last season.

The exciting back line has been further given a burst of youth with the addition of Will Ford, Tom Meeham and Harrison Ashby.
